The Golden Compass is a movie based on a series of books according to the writer the movie is about 'killing god' the question then becomes is it a movie about challenging authority or is it simply what it seems. Comment with your thoughts and answer my questionaire above.

hmm. well, since i haven't seen the movie nor read the books, i couldn't really say. although i read a news article about it, with quotes from an interview from the author, and he says, "the books are about killing god."
of course, he could have elaborated, but the newspaper *and* article source wanted to make him out to be this monstrous, evil, twisted god-hater out to destroy children. so...you gotta look at the source bias, too.
i suppose it'll be just like any other story: the story is about whatever the viewers/readers decide to take with them after hearing the story.
